Exhibits

This season season we are focusing on many of our historic buildings in the Parsonsfield-Porter area. We have a lot and several that are on the National Register of Historic Places.

RECOGNIZING OUR HISTORIC HERITAGE is our theme this season. Not only do we have several gems on the National Register of Historic Places, we have many others worthy of preserving. One may be yours!

Find out “best practices” for preserving old buildings and who you can turn to for help and/or advice.

Our meeting on June 21 will feature a talk by Elsie Parot from Maine Preservation to talk about these isues and where to find help and our exhibit also offers suggestions.

So — if you have an old house, a diamond in the rough, join us this summer and let us help you find some resources to help you preserve your gem. Or if you just want to know more about some of the historic structures in our area, come visit us.

We hope to shed some light on all these topics.

And don’t forget our Giant Yard Sale on Saturday, July 19 (9-1) We are now accepeting donations. You can leave them on our porch and we will be checking regularly to bring them inside and start sorting for the big day.

You might find just what you need to complete your vintage house!

We also plan, once again, to be open for historical research every Monday 10-12 during July and August this year and by appointment.
