Program: “World War I and the Over-promised Middle East”

WWI was coming to a close in 1918/19. Fay’s talk is on the diplomatic history of this period in the middle east, how nation states were created by Europeans with the resulting conflicts that continue today.

Sat., Aug. 18 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. ANNUAL OPEN HOUSE – at the PARSONSFIELD TOWN HOUSE & UNION CHURCH at Middle Road Village. Don Kent will talk at the church about the recent renovations there. Open house at the old Town House will have exhibits & photos of the early village and its residents. (See Lyn Sudlow’s article page 1 & 2)

Don’t miss this once a year opportunity to tour this special building.

Sun., Sept. 16 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. HISTORY HOUSE OPEN – Last formal showing of the Exhibit “Logging in the Sacopee Valley.” Come tour the house, view the exhibits and spend some time browsing our scrapbook collection.

ANNUAL RAFFLE

We are fortunate to have another of Mary Stewart’s quilts to raffle for the Society again this year. Look for tickets at all PPHS events until the October meeting. Chances will be $1.00 per ticket or 6 tickets for $5.00. We depend on the help of members to sell tickets, also.

The Research Room at History House will be open by appointment only at this time.
